Remarks

Leonora Scott Muse Curtin embroidered this skullcap for her grandfather and namesake Leonard Scott.  She was at Les Fougeres boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland at the time.  Leonard wrote his granddaughter on September 24, 1894: "The pretty smoking cap you sent me was just lovely.  Should you ever be compelled to work for a living I recommend cap making in which you would be sure to succeed."

The interior is lined with red silk with an embroidered "C" in the center.
