Remarks

This 19th century French mahogany and brass cage housed Leonora and Thomas Curtin’s pet marmoset named "Dom Pedro de Jura Juba."   They acquired the marmoset while traveling in France in 1906.  Marmosets, which are indigenous to Madagascar, are now endangered species and cannot be imported.
